Service Programs

The Foster Kids Tote Bag Program is a very basic solution to a very complex problem in Placer County. There are approximately 10 to 15 children a month placed in foster care in Placer County. At this time our program is focusing on the 0-5 year olds. These children are placed in a position without the basic needs. The Totes for Kids are given to the children to keep as their own at the time they are in transition to foster care. The sooner these children can start feeling good about themselves the better off they are. The Totes are filled with some basic hygiene needs such as food, formula, toys, clothes and other necessities. The Emergency Response Team for Placer County is the first contact personnel when children are placed in foster care. We contacted the team asking them if a program like this would be of service in Placer County. Since then a request has been made to our club to provide 10 tote bags to be placed with the team and follow each month with 5-10 more bags as needed. We would like to fill that need through our program along with other community support.
