I always wanted a custom TRD logo on my seats. I explored some Wet Okole seat covers which you can add a logo to, but it wasn't the look I was really going for. The Okole's were sweet, but I wanted something that matched the stock interior, yet added a extra amount of flair. The Okole's just didn't seem to "fit". So I went for something a tad more "custom" than the seat cover route.
Out came the phonebook and on my first call in the Embroidery section, I was lucky enough to have gotten a hold of Nor Cal Embroidery.
I went over to the shop to discuss if what I had in mind was even possible. I was informed that Nor Cal could custom "tool" the TRD logo into their machines for me easy enough, but the seat covers would have to come off. This is where I started to get discouraged. We took a walk outside to the truck and inspected the seats, it appeared that the covers were stitched into the very material the seat was constructed off. So as a backup plan, we decided if the main part of the seat material could not be removed, we would try to remove the fabric from the headrest and use that. Nor Cal directed me towards a Custom Upholstery shop.
The guy was a total joke, not only did he tell me that the main part of the seat was impossible to take off, but the headrest fabric, once removed, would never fit the same.
I tried one more Upholstery Shop for a second opinion. Roseville Upholstery was completely confident the main part of the seat fabric could be removed and re-fitted to the original specs.
Needless to say, I was extremely happy.
I then proceeded to have Roseville Upholstery remove my seat covers, transport them to to Nor Cal, have them embroidered and back to Roseville Upholstery to get them re-fitted.
The results speak for themselves....
